From the Principal’s Office
Dear Merryhill Families,
Whether the weather agrees or not, this month brings us Autumn! The change of season is not the only apparent change we will encounter this month. I am sure you may have already noticed, but your child is changing daily! They know more than they did last week, and they are continuously growing socially, emotionally, cognitively and of course, physically. To me, this transformation is exciting, and it is why my team and I do what we do every day.
Speaking of what we are doing, please keep an eye out on your calendars, as the next couple of months will be flying by us with all the amazing upcoming events. We will have our annual Grandparent’s Day Celebration on September 9th, and I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful people that hold such a special place in these children’s lives and welcoming them into our school. The children will also experience a number of cultural studies this month, including an exploration of Milton Hershey, Johnny Appleseed, and Rash Hashanah.
We look forward to this upcoming month, and thank you for sharing it with us and choosing us to care and develop your amazing children. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please know that I am available for you at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Jherica McEndree, Principal

Your child grabs a toy from a playmate, tears erupt, and you immediately tell him to say, “I’m sorry.” Does this sound familiar? Although apologizing might seem to diffuse the situation, these words alone don’t fix hurt feelings, nor do they help your child understand how or why he caused[.....]
