Parents,
October begins my favorite time of the year. The seasons are changing and we are preparing for lots of different activities and learning opportunities. The school year is off to a new start and the children are really excited about all that is happening in their classrooms.
This month we will experience our annual Merryhill Pumpkin Patch – scheduled for Wednesday, October 19th. Because we don’t take the preschool children off campus we take this opportunity to turn our back area into a pumpkin patch – with hundreds of pumpkins, a petting zoo and finishing with a picnic. The children love this tradition and is always a favorite among our staff.
This month is also our annual Trunk or Treat event. This event has become huge with everyone – both parents and staff working together to create a very exciting event for the children. As in year’s past, this event is held on Halloween – Monday, October 31st and will be followed by classroom parties. If you are interested in decorating your car (trunk) this year, please see Ms. Monique – our official coordinator of the Trunk-or-Treat event. Check out trunk or treat on Pinterest to see ideas.
This month the children will be learning about Fall, Leaves, Harvest, and traditions in addition to continued Links to Learning skills. Also, you can look for the first parent reports of the year to come out in early November.
As always, please do not hesitate to stop by the office anytime with questions.
Sincerely,
Ms. Susan – Principal
