October has breezed on through and has left us with cooler temperatures to enjoy in November, just in time for our Thanksgiving festivities. This year our clocks get turned back on Sunday, November 6th; giving us almost a whole week to enjoy our longer days. Please make sure that your child’s extra change of clothes get switched out from summer to winter. You may also want to start bringing a light sweater or jacket, as we will continue to go out every day that the weather permits.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to and/or attended our Halloween Extravaganza. Once again, our event was a huge success and it was great to see all our families enjoying the games, ponies, and train ride. It was great to see everyone’s creative side showcased in all the family costumes. It made for a hard decision when voting for the winner of our Family Costume Contest. After much deliberation, the winner of our Family Costume Contest is once again the Marek Family, with their costumes representing Orkin Pest Control Company. The Marek Family will receive free admission to our Annual Art Festival in the spring. Congratulations!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our October Free Dress Day to benefit Alzheimer’s research. Our November community outreach will be our food drive from November 7th through November 18th. Please bring in nonperishable food items during this time. All items collected will be donated to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY). Our Kindergarten/1st grade class will deliver the items and tour the facility to learn about what they do to help our youth in need.
Pizza Friday will be November 4th. If you have not already signed your child up to participate, and are interested, please stop by the front desk.
You will soon be receiving an invitation to join us for our Annual Family Thanksgiving Feast. Please fill out the bottom portion and return your RSVP to the front desk by November 11th. Mark your calendars now for November 18th and plan to join us for this delicious meal and family time.
Our Annual Toy Drive will begin on November 28th; just in time for all our Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppers to get a great deal on extra toys to donate.
Don’t forget that this month we will be closed on November 10th, 11th, 24th, and 25th. Please see our monthly calendar to mark your calendars accordingly.
Once again we thank you for entrusting your pride and joy(s) to us everyday. We are honored to have you as part of our Merryhill Community.
