Dear Parents,
October was a fun and busy month! This month we hosted our first Trunk or Treat and it was a hit! Wow…what a turn-out! The weather was great, your costumes and the trunk decorations were awesome, and everyone seemed to be having a great time! It was so nice to see our Merryhill School families and kids having fun together on this festive evening. Thank you so much for being so generous, your enthusiastic participation in our seasonal events is very much appreciated.
The next big school event will be our fall festival on Saturday, November 5th. There will be carnival games, activities, a bounce house, dunk tank, balloon artist, raffle prizes, nachos, popcorn, and cotton candy! We are so excited for this fun family event! This month we will also be hosting our “Thanksgiving Feast” on Friday, November 18th. We have so much to be thankful for this year, so along with planning for their bountiful feast, the children will learn the meaning of giving through theme related activities.
Our teachers are enthusiastic about developing lifelong learners. They genuinely care about children and have the sensitivity and knowledge to understand a child’s individual developmental needs and learning styles. They take the time to help each child discover, in his or her way, a fascinating world of learning and play. On Thursday, November 17th your children will receive their first progress report of this academic year. We will also be scheduling parent teacher conferences on this day to discuss your child’s development. Sign Up Schedules for the conferences will be posted on Wednesday November 9th.
We help our teachers keep current with the latest techniques by sponsoring professional development where internal and external trainers and consultants lead our workshops. Each staff member is required by the state of Texas to accomplish 24 hours of training each year. We will be closed on Monday, November 7th for professional development. We look forward to sharing learning experiences with other dedicated Merryhill School teachers in Texas and appreciate your support as we empower our teachers to meet the needs of your children better.
Thank you and we wish you an awesome month!
