March has arrived and it’s so wonderful to know that Spring is right around the corner! Soon signs of Spring will be all around us at Merryhill as the trees begin to blossom and the warmer weather approaches. The children will begin to notice the signs of Spring as they search the skies for rainbows and use their imaginations to find pictures in puffy clouds.
“What’s that you say? We are reading Dr. Seuss books, and we are starting today!” The month of March marks the birthday of one of our favorite authors; Dr. Seuss! The children will rediscover the many books of Dr. Seuss and celebrate the joy of reading by honoring Dr. Seuss’s birthday! Bring in your favorite Dr. Seuss book on Thursday, March 2nd.
Priority Registration ends on March 10th. Be sure to register early to reserve your child’s spot for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. Our school is currently full and we anticipate full enrollment again next year. Register now!
Our biggest celebration of the year is coming in April. It’s the Week of the Young Child! We will be kicking off this very special week with a Playday on Saturday, April 22nd , so mark your calendar now. It’s a great way to spend the day with family and all your Merryhill friends. More information regarding this special week will be coming your way soon!
Don’t forget to “Spring Forward”, as we once again change our clocks on Sunday, March 12th. It is so nice to have those longer days again!

Look for your registration packet on your child’s sign sheet. Our school is currently full and we anticipate full enrollment for the new year, so it will be very important to register early to reserve your spot.
Priority Registration ends on Friday, March 10th!
This year, all that register early will be placed in a drawing to win a Lego set.

If you have Dr. Seuss books that you would like to bring in to share with your child’s class, we would love to have them on loan.

Once again, we will be “wearin’ the green” on Friday, March 17th for our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Check with your child’s teacher regarding any special activities for the day. And don’t forget to wear GREEN!

Mark your calendar for this very special upcoming week. We will kick off the week on Saturday, April 22nd with our annual Playday. This will be an event that you won’t want to miss and everyone is invited to attend, so save the date!
Art to Remember
You will soon have the opportunity to turn your child’s art work into a keepsake product. During the week of March 13th, look for your very own personalized order forms. There will be over 40 products to choose from, including key chains, mugs, t-shirts, mouse pads, and more. All orders are due March 27th.

Teacher’s Monthly Newsletter
Located on the classroom door, and sent home in the End of the Month Folder. The newsletter will give you information on the focus of the month and what you can do to continue the learning at home.
End of the Month Folder
You will receive a folder at the end of each calendar month that includes skill related work from your child. This is your opportunity to see skill progression. Also included are the monthly Links to Learning skills that you can review with your child, a printed letter about what is coming up the next month, and the next month’s Spanish poster for you to hang on your refrigerator to review with your child throughout the month.
Please know that our teachers spend quite a bit of time and work very hard to provide you with this vital information about what your child is learning. Plus, they are available to speak with you in person or by phone at any time.
