Dearest Families,
February ended with much needed sunshine! With all of the rain we had in February and now the sunshine, our garden has started off nicely! The children, teachers and I have planted herbs to taste and smell, veggies to eat and do projects with, and colorful flowers to look at and draw! This garden will give us more real life learning experiences to incorporate with our Links to Learning curriculum!
With the days getting longer and spring time just around the corner, we leap into March with a renewed sense of excitement! Starting the excitement, we had a special visitor. The Merryhill Dragon read to the children in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday! In addition our spring pictures are happening THIS week and our Scholastic Book Fair will tease you with all of the fun books to buy at the end of the month! We will have a St. Patrick’s Day pot-luck this Friday, and then the Easter egg hunt will be right around the corner before we know it. Hold on to your hats, because April is jammed packed with thrills too.
For those children who are graduating to Kindergarten in the new school year, visit the Elementary front office for information on how to reserve your spot for the new school year! You want to contact them soon before the classes fill up! The Elementary Principal’s name is Karen Cooper and her contact number is 408-254-1282 and email is karen.cooper@nlcinc.com. The Elementary School will have a carnival for all families on Sat. March 18th from 10am – 1pm. Join the fun!! This is also where you will be able to get information on the Kindergarten summer camp program. There will be registration forms there too to sign up for their summer camp. Their summer camp is for all families, even outside families. If you know of any friends or family who need a fun place for their child to go for the summer months, Merryhill Elementary School is the way to go! They have a fun fieldtrip every week and lots of fun activities throughout the day. Check them out!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns my door is always open. We are here to help you and “our” children in any way we can. Everyone at Merryhill is special and important to us. Let us continue to make this a great school year!

Parent Referral Program:
If there’s one thing parents love to do, it’s talk about their children’s successes.
When friends ask you about your child’s experiences at Merryhill School, what type of success stories do you share? Do you mention the personal and educational discoveries your child is making thanks to our advanced curriculum? Do you talk about the new levels of self and social confidence your child has gained thanks to our encouraging atmosphere?
*For every new child you refer who enrolls at our school for three months, you’ll receive one FREE week of tuition for your child*.
It’s our way of saying thanks for doing what comes naturally – singing the praises of your child and sharing your experiences with the Merryhill School difference!!
