Dear Merryhill Families-
It’s that time of year again! School starts in 18 days and things are abuzz here on campus while we ready ourselves for an amazing school year. I hope you’re enjoying what remains of your summer vacation.
A couple of friendly reminders:
We have a Parent Education Night on August 8th, from 6-7:30PM. During that time, we will discuss some of our plans for the 2017-18 year, give you some insight into our Genius Hour program, and have a conversation with you about what your needs and wants are, as they pertain to your student’s education. Current and prospective parents are invited to this event and we will provide child care during this time. Because of this, we ask that you RSVP by calling the office or responding to the Smore newsletter that was sent to you on July 18th.
Our Back-to-School Orientation is on Friday, August 18th from 9-12PM. All grades, 1st-5th are welcome at any time during that window to come to meet your teachers and sign up for after-school programs. Kindergarten students have a formal orientation from 9-10:30AM. During that time they will meet their classmates, take a tour of the campus with their teacher, and get to know their classroom. The PTO will also be present that day, making used uniforms available for purchase.
Some news:
August 21st is the solar eclipse. We will be observing the eclipse in the morning of the first day of school. PTO will provide popsicles and students will have the opportunity to witness the rare event with their friends and teachers! More information will be sent out via email and available at our Back-to-School Orientation.
