Merryhill Midtown is known as a technology powerhouse, and the best just got better! Our robust Apple iPad program currently offers students a personal learning experience with cutting edge technology. We are proud to announce that we are enhancing that learning experience with a significant hardware upgrade. As an Apple Distinguished School, we take pride in providing new hardware to further our technology potential and better equip our students and staff.
As part of this upgrade we are phasing out iPad 2nd and 4th generation devices for a fleet of devices to include iPad Air, Air 2 and Apple’s new 5th generation iPads. This new hardware will allow students and educators access to faster processing power to incorporate the latest technologies and applications for instruction. The process for preparing and rolling out new devices is meticulous. The media team is working hard to ensure each device has all of the apps, updates, profiles, and modifications necessary to provide maximum safety and effectiveness in the classroom and at home.
Our first goal is to supply our middle school 1:1 iPad program as these devices go home for homework and other coursework. Seventh and eighth grade rollout was successfully conducted this past week. Sixth grade rollout will take place this coming week with fifth and fourth grades in the weeks to follow. Please refer to your grade-specific iPad e-mail for information such as case suggestions and device types. If you have not received this e-mail, we are still in the process of preparing your child’s device. We want to ensure everyone gets accurate information to make case and accessory purchases.
If you have any questions and/or concerns regarding technology at Midtown, feel free to reach out to Mr. Sanchez or Mr. Lemus.
