A Note From Our Principal,
Summer is in full swing and we are enjoying every minute of it. The month of July kicks off our Kids Helping Kids Project Linus fundraiser! We chose this fundraiser because we know how much our students love to snuggle up with their blankets at nap time and we want to share that comfort with children that may not have the same security as they do. The students in our PreK-1 and PreK-2 classes will be making blankets from donated and purchased fabric. The entire school will also be able to participate by bringing in items for our Bake Sale! If you’re like me, and not much of a baker, you can also do a cash donation in the front lobby area – coins and bills of all donations will be happily donated to Project Linus on July 20th! We can’t wait to share the results of this endeavor with all of you!
As you know, Friday will be my last day before I head out on Maternity Leave. I have no doubt that this will be a seamless transition with Ms. Karina stepping up as the Acting Principal and Ms. Darice continuing to hold down the fort while I’m gone. Should you wish to email them directly here are their emails:
Ms. Darice – darice.johnson@nlcinc.com
Ms. Karina – karina.medina@nlcinc.com
Please note: We are closed on Wednesday, July 4th for Independence Day.
Sincerely,
Jill McSpadden
Vacation Reminders
We want to make sure your tuition account is properly managed, so please remember to let us know if you are going on vacation this summer. Vacation request forms can be found at the front desk. Thank you!
Sunscreen, Water, Closed-Toed Shoes & Hat Reminders
Sunscreen: Please check your child’s cubby and Links 2 Home notes from your child’s teacher to ensure that your child has sunscreen. Summer camp field trips frequently leave early in the morning and the best way to make sure your camper is protected is to have them apply sunscreen before they leave home.
Water: Please send a labeled sports top water bottle to school with your child. We take these outside with each class to ensure that students always have access to water while playing.
Closed-Toed Shoes: Please ensure your child has on closed-toed shoes. This is a licensing requirement that helps us keep toes and feet safe while the children run and play outside.
Hat: Please ensure your child has a hat in their cubby. The days are getting hot and we want to keep them as cool as possible.
