The new school year is well underway. After a summer filled with construction, we are happy to be back in our building and spending our days with all of you. Thank you so much for your patience while we worked through the renovations and continue to put the finishing touches on our school.
As we move into September, please take note of the following events:
- Monday, September 3rd-No school-Labor Day
- Wednesday, September 5th, 6:30-7:30 pm-Please join us for Back to School Night. Your child’s teachers will be sharing her classroom goals and expectations. Because there is so much information to be shared, we prefer that the children do not attend this event.
- Friday, September 7th, 8:15-9:00 am-Attention grandparents…please join us in celebrating the important role that you play in your little one’s life at our Grandparent’s Day Breakfast.
- Tuesday, September 11th-Charleston Wrap orders are due.
- Friday, September 14th-Fun Friday. This month’s Fun Friday lunch will be from Subway. If you have not already signed your child up and would like for him/her to participate, please stop by the front desk.
- Monday, September 17th through Friday, September 21st-Scholastic Book Fair. If you would like to volunteer to help with the book fair during drop off or pick up times, please stop by the front desk and we will place you on the schedule for a time frame that is convenient for you.
- Wednesday, September 26th, 9:00-11:00 am-Petting Zoo to You will be on campus. Each class will have a separate designated time to visit with the animals. You are welcome to check with the front desk at the beginning of the week to confirm your child’s scheduled time. You are also welcome to join us for some petting zoo fun.
For a complete list of school closures, holidays, or Fun Friday dates, please stop by the front desk.
There will be several fund-raisers offered throughout the school year. All of our fund-raisers are decided at the corporate level. Please feel free to participate in as many or as few as you would like. The hope in providing many fund-raisers is that each of you will find at least one that interests you. Please know that participation is voluntary and absolutely not required.
Beginning Monday, September 4th, all parents will be able to check your child(ren) in/out at the front desk, using the IPad. If you are not new to Merryhill, your previous pin should work and you may begin using that immediately. If you are new to Merryhill and have not yet set up a pin, please stop by the desk, starting Monday, to do so.
Beginning this year, we will be collecting Box Tops. You can find these on many products, especially food items. Please check for box tops on the items that you purchase, and bring them in to the school. We receive 10 cents from each box top sent in, which can add up rather quickly. We can then turn this around to purchase classroom supplies to further enhance your child’s learning.
If you have questions regarding any of the above information, please do not hesitate to check with a member of our administrative team. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with all of you and your sweet little ones.
