Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday filled with family and fun. The children that attended camp had a great time cooking, building and staying engaged with fun seasonal activities. If you missed this camp keep in mind we will be hosting a Spring camp during the school break. Keep your eyes out for the enrollment flyer at the end of March.
This month we are getting back to our school routines and meeting new friends. We had 10 new friends join us our first week back from camp. If you see a new face please take the time to welcome them to our Merryhill family. Our children have been really doing a great job in helping our new friends feel welcome. We will also be preparing for Fall 2019 enrollment. This will be the time to secure your enrollment for our next school year. Our current families will have a two week priority enrollment and then we will open enrollment to the public.
Well coming back from the holidays we have come back with a few sniffles and coughs so I thought it might be good to refresh our memories about our sick policy.
Illness Policy
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. If we have to send your child home with these symptoms they are expected to stay out the full next day and they may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following symptoms below. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate.
- Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
- Vomiting, diarrhea or stomach upset
- Heavy nasal discharge requiring wiping every 3 to 5 minutes
- Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
- Sore throat
- Skin rash, including diaper rash
- Head lice
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may indicate illness

Links 2 Learning Monthly Folders
Each month our teachers prepare folders that outline what your child has learned in the prior month. These folders have work samples in them and explain the skills that your child is working to master. We send these home at the end of each month and ask that they be returned a few days later. Please let us know if you have any questions about the monthly folders or about your child’s progress!
Parent Referrals
Do you have friends who are moving to the area, having a child or are unhappy with their child’s current preschool? We are always happy to meet other parents like you and offer a partial tuition credit for parent referrals. Please see the front office for details.
