Reminders
Nut Free: We are a NUT FREE school. We do have some students with nut allergies and appreciate your help in keeping all of our children safe and healthy.
California Licensing Regulations require that parents check children in and out using our electronic system.
Tuition Options: We appreciate that you make every effort to make your tuition payments on time. As you are aware, tuition payments are due on Monday of each week (or on your child’s first day of attendance). To save you time, the headache of having to remember your checkbook every Monday and to avoid those pesky late fees, consider enrolling in our automatic payment program at no charge. We accept credit card payments or you can use our Parent Portal. Please talk to Sue or Aubrey for more information.
LTH Binders: Our Links to Home Binders are located either just outside your child’s classroom or right inside the classroom door. Please make it a point to check these daily. We send Ouch Reports, Merry-Grams and other school information home via these binders. They are a great communication tool!
Art Files: Please remember to check them at least once a week to pick up your child’s amazing art work.
Clothing and Nap Items: Remember to update your child’s extra clothing as the seasons change and your child grows! Please label all of their items so we can return anything that may be forgotten at the end of the day. Any soiled items will be placed in plastic bags and put into your child’s cubby. Each child needs a blanket and crib size sheet for rest time. Sheets and blankets must be taken home on Fridays (or you child’s last day of attendance during the week), laundered and returned on the first day of attendance.
Merryhill Elementary School: If you are interested in having your child stay with Merryhill School for kindergarten and beyond, please visit our elementary campus at 1115 Orlando Ave. in Roseville, just off of I-80 and Riverside Ave. The school contact information is 916-783-3010 or connie.curiel@nlcinc.com.

Message from the Principal:
Hello Rocklin Merryhill Families!
We had such a great time celebrating Earth Day last month! Celebrating Earth Day as a community provides our teachers with many opportunities to relate science, math and literacy concepts to everyday life. While we had planned to release butterflies, ladybugs and praying mantises on Earth Day, mother nature and Green Acres landscaping supply store had other ideas! Our butterflies made their way out of their cocoons a little early. Our praying mantises crawled out of their egg sacs a little late. (There were so many of them! The kids put them on the rose bushes in front of our school.) And finally, Green Acres was out of ladybugs when I went to pick them up!
Most of our classes took a look at bugs and gardening last week and some are still working on that this month. If you need any gardening tips, just ask your child! You could also check out this month’s letter from our Education Department. It’s all about the benefits of gardening with children.
During the week of April 29 – May 3, we celebrated National Book Week. All of classes (even our infants!) used alphabet related books. While our infants didn’t understand the whole ABC thing, they did enjoy the pictures, cadence and rhythm of Chicka Chicka, Boom Boom!
All you moms, grandmas, aunties and other female family members; please join us on May 10 at 3:30 for our annual Mother’s Day tea. We love celebrating our moms!
The construction at our new school location is proceeding right on target! Let’s hope that continues. We are looking at a mid to late September or early October opening. I’ll keep you posted!
Warmly,
Sue Stewart
