Another school year has come and gone and summer is upon us. We closed out the school year with graduations, celebrations, and tearful goodbyes. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the generous gifts and kind words of thanks and appreciation that I received from our wonderful parents. I have never felt so appreciated for doing a job that I love. Your children are my reason for coming to work every day.
As we look into our summer session, your children will be continuing to work on the skills that they have learned throughout the school year with our Links to Learning curriculum. We have a full and fun summer planned for our students. We kick off the summer session with a visit from Kona Ice on Monday, June 3rd. Our students will be enjoying snow cones as we welcome summer to Merryhill.
We had such a wonderful morning of celebration with our moms as we shared Muffins with Mom together, and it is now time to recognize our dads. Please join us for Donuts with Dad on Friday, June 14th, from 8:15 am-9:00 am.
Please take note of the following summer reminders:
- Please apply sunscreen to your child every morning prior to arriving to school. If you would like it reapplied before going outside in the afternoon, please provide sunscreen to your child’s teacher, labeled with your child’s name. Please note that we will not be going outside if the temperature reaches triple digits. In those instances, we will be using room 3 for our indoor gross motor activities.
- Please ensure that your child has a COMPLETE change of clothing at school. This includes a shirt, shorts, underwear and socks.
- Please send your child to school daily wearing close-toed shoes. This is the best way to protect their feet.
We are looking forward to a wonderful summer with your children. Thank you for sharing them with us.
