A Note From Our Principal,
Summer is in full swing and our teachers are having a great time teaching and learning with our students using our Summer Curriculum! We are loving this hot summer accommpanied by Splash Days and meeting new friends as we all settle into our new classrooms and roles. We look forward to creating engaging and inviting activities all summer long!
Beginning July 1st, we will have pencil cases in the lobby for your child to decorate, fill and donate to a charity called AboutKidz. AboutKidz provides the opportunity for almost 1,000 low-income and at-risk children to begin their school year with confidence and enthusiasm! We will also be accepting school supplies to fill backpacks – pens, pencils, markers, crayons … you name it! Be sure to follow the LINK to watch a video on AboutKidz.
Sincerely,
Jill McSpadden
Farewell Ms. Darice
It is a sad month as we goodbye to our beloved Ms. Darice. As you may know, Ms. Darice is a doer and a helper. She goes where she’s needed and for the past two years she has helped to bring order and professionalism to our school. Prior to working with Merryhill Davis, Ms. Darice was working at Merryhill Milpitas and this is where she will be returning to as of July 15th. Making the transition to this school will allow Ms. Darice to accelerate her degree and her career. We are sad to see Ms. Darice go but we are so happy that she will still be with the Merryhill family, and just a phone call away when I need her incredible expertise.
Over the next two weeks, I (Ms. Jill) will be taking over all of the Administrative Duties that Ms. Darice would normally do. During this time, I ask that you email me any requests, concerns or questions directly, so that I can follow up promptly.
When you see her next please give her a big hug, a high five, well-wishes, whatever suits you best!
Welcome Ms. Sharon
While saying goodbye to Ms. Darice, we are also welcoming a new Assistant Principal on July 8th. Ms. Sharon Gouveia joins us from the Bay Area and is very excited to meet everyone and jump in to her new role as our AP! Ms. Sharon has a wealth of experience in the classroom and will be assisting Ms. Jill in all of our NAEYC Accreditation work, behavior management plans and will also be working hands-on with our Teachers in their classrooms. We very much look forward to her joining our team and I urge you to reach out and introduce yourself to her once she arrives!
New Faces
The past month has been wonderful in that we have added quite a few new staff members to our team! We are so excited to have our new and experienced staff blending together and learning from each other. As you see new faces around the school please introduce yourself, they’re all eager to meet you too!
Check out the new Bio Board as it will be getting updated as we add new staff to our roster!
