October is here and we are excited to continue our learning about the Fall Season and all the activities that we have planned. Unfortunately, we will not be able to host our annual Trunk or Treat event this year due to COVID restrictions, but we promise a good time during this month as usual. We will be organizing our Merryhill Pumpkin Patch on Wednesday, October 28th – a little different this year, but it will be lots of fun with games and pumpkins. Along with our weekly Fun Friday events – we are looking forward to a great month.
The teachers will also be busy finishing up our first Parent Reports of the year. Those will be available to you the week of November 1st. The parent reports will give you an idea about how your child is progressing as well as what they will be working on the rest of the year.
We hope that you have been enjoying our weekly Merryhill News, I’ve certainly enjoyed putting it together for you. I am focusing on lots of pictures and videos as I know it is tough not being able to be in the building.
We thank you for being so patient everyday as we check children in and bring them back out to you at the end of the day. We understand that this is not only a busy time of day for us, but also for you. Calling a few minutes early does help us to get them up front, but keep in mind that we only allow 4 children up front at a time to maintain a safe social distance as they could be from different classes. We do usually wait until we see your car to get the infants and toddlers as it is very hard for them to wait up front. I also feel like we recognize many of the cars as you pull in, but it would be helpful if you stand up beside your car and wave at us if it doesn’t look like we know who you are – Our Admin eyes are not the best and it’s hard to see into the cars when there is a glare.
We are also looking at the possiblilty of having school pictures – watch for more details soon. Lifetouch has a COVID plan and we are working with them to make sure they are also following our plans. The tenative dates are Nov. 4-6th. Of course, if you are not comfortable you will let us know and we won’t have your child photographed and unfortunatley there will not be any sibling pictures this year.
As always, please call or email with any questions you may have.
