A Note From Our Principal,
We hope your children enjoyed their fall lessons, pumpkin themed activities and classroom celebrations last month. Seeing our students enjoy their Halloween costumes and fall attire is one of the highlights of the year for us. To continue the safety of the children, the teachers were able to have classroom parties which included games and dancing. Thank you for allowing us to be part of these special occasions! This month we are focusing on gratitude and connecting with others. Though we cannot hold our normal Thanksgiving community meal this year we have many special activities planned for our students and are looking forward to sharing photos with you all on Links 2 Home. On Friday November 20th, the children will enjoy a pumpkin pie social with their classmates. The children will be able to share what they are thankful for and share their family traditions. As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Karina Medina
Principal
Fall Competitions
I huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents who helped by donating supplies to our raffle baskets and our scarecrows! The scarecrows were a hit! It was a pleasure seeing all the children coming in with excitement while talking about the characters. The scarecrows were displayed in front of our building and I saw many children happy to take photos with their favorites. We appreciate our community participation as parents and children had the opportunity to cast their votes on their favorite scarecrows. All the classrooms did a fantastic job and were creative! The winner for the Scarecrow Challenge was Mrs. Melissa’s Cat in the Hat and his mini Things! Congratulations, the classroom had a celebration party which included individual ice cream cups!
Illness Policy Reminder
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. For more information please see our Parent Handbook or reach out to a member of our administrative team.
Fall Weather Reminder
As the cold weather is approaching us, we ask that you update your child’s spare clothes to warm attire. The children still enjoy playing outside, so please remember to bring a jacket and add your child’s name to the tag.
Thanksgiving Celebrations
Each of our classrooms will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a pumpkin pie social on November 2oth. Students will have the opportunity to share their family traditions and photos if they wish. The show must go on…the children will be singing a song for their parents and a video will be sent via Tadpoles. The students are also making their own placemats and other Thanksgiving themed artwork to bring home to share with family members.
