A Note From Our Principal
Happy April!
Now that Spring has arrived, we’re looking forward to spending even more time exploring the outdoors. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather helps children learn and grow as they discover new things in their environment. Our teachers are planning outdoor games, lessons and picnics to celebrate Spring, so please be sure to dress your child in weather appropriate clothing. We can’t wait to share these activities with your child!
As the season changes there are always housekeeping items to take care of, so please read carefully to ensure your child is all set for Spring at Merryhill!
Sincerely,
Jill McSpadden
Week of the Young Child
Week of the Young Child, April 4th-8th, is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families. We have many fun activities planned for Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday and Family Friday. Look out for pictures of all the wonderfully planned activities and events!
If you like to come read to your child’s (grandchild’s) class during this week, please speak to your child’s teacher to organize a best time.
Are you using the Links to Home App? Download it now if you haven’t already!
If not, go to your App Store and download Links to Home. Look for the green worm, sign in with the email that we have on file, and follow the prompts! All communication in one safe place – pictures, emails, texts etc … it’s all there!
Additionally, if you need to leave any drop off notes for the Teacher, this is where you can do that! Perhaps your kiddo … had a terrible sleep and may be cranky, refused to eat breakfast and may be hungry, will be picked up earlier than usual … Let us know! The more info our teachers have about your kiddo, the better we can care from them. Thank you!
Housekeeping Items
- All students and staff are required to wear closed toe shoes. If you can see the tips of toes, they are not appropriate for school, please switch them out for shoes or sandals that cover the whole foot.
- Sunscreen Forms – Please check your Links to Home app for the Sunscreen Form – it’s also available in the lobby on your right as soon as you walk in the door. Complete it and give it to your child’s teacher along with the sunscreen you’ve provided. Please no aerosol sprays.
- Pick Up/Drop Off – Now that we are mask free, please ensure that you continue to remain outside of the classroom for pick up/drop off unless directed by the teacher to enter the classroom.
- Cubby Clean out Time! Please be sure to check your child’s cubby to see if they need any extra clothes. This is a great time to swap them out (and most likley, size UP!)
