This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming DekeHenriFurry to our school. Deke is a therapy dog who loves the Golden Knights, our local hockey team. He’s also a volunteer at Summerlin Hospital’s children’s oncology unit.
Deke is not just any dog. He’s an A student at Merryhill Elementary School Summerlin! During his visit, he was wearing a Merryhill School shirt and shared his love for the Golden Knights with our students.
The kids learned about his community service and how he benefits the local community by being a therapy dog for Pawkey Dogs. We were thrilled to have him visit our school and share his love for the Golden Knights with our students.
At Merryhill Elementary School Summerlin, we believe in tailoring our lessons to our students’ passions. That’s why we were so excited to have Deke visit us this week. We might even have to bury some bones and toys around the campus for him to dig up!
Thank you, Deke, for igniting our MerryhillPride! We can’t wait to see what you do next.
