A Note from Our Principal
The summer is not over yet, and we have lots of fun events still planned. We ended the month of July with Community Helper Week, where the children had an opportunity to enjoy dramatic play and dress up as a community helper. We wanted to thank you all for your participation in our Kids Helping Communities initiative this summer! We are grateful for the opportunity to watch our students serve others these past few weeks. We are proud to announce that we collected a wide variety of items for Little Mustard Seed School as the children prepare for back to school. Thank you for your generous donations! We are starting the month of August with Foodie Fun! Your children will become chef’s while they learn to follow instructions and use their fine motor skills. August 14th is the official beginning of the 23-24 school year! We would like to welcome everyone and invite our families to Meet the Admin on August 25th. Stop by the front office from 7:30-9:00am and enjoy some morning snack and coffee. We would love to catch up with all of you!
Sincerely,
Karina Medina
Welcome Back-Wild West Family Picnic
Get your cowboy/girl boots and hats ready for a Wild West family picnic! The Merryhill Staff would like to welcome everyone on August 25th from 4:30-6:00. Bring your blankets and picnic baskets while you enjoy dinner with your Merryhill family. As a reminder, we are a nut free school. The children will have the opportunity to laso a horse, take pictures and make attire to become a real cowboy/cowgirl! We look forward to seeing you there!
Online Family Communication
As we get ready to kick off a new school year, we want to make sure you’re kept in the know. In addition to this newsletter, the “For Parents” section of our website also includes links to our menu, monthly calendar, and school year calendar. If you’re not currently receiving photos and daily reports for your child, you can easily change this by downloading the Links 2 Home app on your phone. After downloading, you can register with the same email address that you used to enroll your child in our school.
Care Call Week
During the week of August 28th, teachers will call the families to introduce themselves and welcome everyone to their class. This is a great opportunity to talk to your teacher about your child and learn about what they will explore and what the expectations are for the classroom. Teachers will continue to provide care calls every other month to continue the communication and build a positive team relationship with their parents.
