A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Fall has definitely arrived! The children are having so much fun exploring outside the leaves changing colors and beginning to fall off the trees. I hope you and your family enjoyed the Fall Festival it was such a huge success, and we can’t thank you enough for your coming and making it filled with such great memories. We could not have done it without you! Thank you to Red Dog Real Estate for donating the Pumpkins.
November is filled with special cultural celebrations and events, and we are looking forward to sharing these wonderful experiences with our students. This month we will be focusing on gratitude and connecting with our community. We are collecting non perishable food for the Sacramento Food Bank, our goal is 400 cans, you can drop off your donations by your child’s classroom door. The class with the most donations will receive a pizza party. The children are also preparing for our Pumpkin Pie Social, the children will be putting on a performance. Please look for more information as the day approaches. November is American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. The children will be celebrating and learning about the diverse culture by reading books and exploring nature.
We are excited to announce that we are having Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, November 9th. This is your opportunity to sit down and talk to your child’s teacher and see how they are developing. Please see the front office to sign up for a time.
Don’t forget to fill out your Parent Survey. We strive for 5’s! Our enrolled family survey launched in October. If you have not received the email, please let us know so we can request it be resent. The survey provides the opportunity for you to give us feedback anonymously on our strengths and areas we can work on. Survey closes November 17th.

Building a sense of gratitude in young children is an essential part of their development. Through our Links to Learning curriculum, we continuously strive to cultivate an environment where appreciation is nurtured all year round. As we approach this joyous holiday season, we are particularly reminded of the significance of fostering an attitude of gratitude in our students and incorporate hands-on lessons related to empathy, kindness, and giving back.
A great way to continue the learning at home is through meaningful conversations with your child. Consider asking questions such as, “What made you smile today?” or “What are some ways we can show our friend that we are thankful for them?” and “What are you thankful for today?”
Books also provide an excellent platform for nurturing gratitude and inspiring discussions with your child. Take a look at some of our favorites below.
