A Note from Our Principal
First off, I would like to welcome myself to this new role as Principal at Merryhill Laguna. I am honored and thrilled to continue this amazing program’s Links to Learning curriculum and especially looking forward to planning more family events. I myself, was a Merryhill student from preschool to fourth grade and cannot wait to continue my journey here! I began my journey after graduating from Sacramento State University as a fourth-grade teacher for two fun-filled years. I moved up and started teaching high school students and finally made my way to preschool. I strive to create an environment where students are represented within the classroom to enhance the children’s learning experiences.
February was a great month at Merryhill Laguna! Our students celebrated diversity, friendship, and love. Valentine’s Day was enjoyed with class parties and special treats, thank you to all the families that helped create these Valentine’s day grams for the kiddos. In anticipation of spring, we have a fun filled spirit month planned, keep an eye out for those spirit days! Continuing the excitement for spring, our teachers are busy creating meaningful learning activities and classroom centers that will help students gain an appreciation for the changing seasons.
Sincerely,
McKenzie Davies
National Reading Month
March is National Reading Month! Our teachers have exciting activities planned that include reading and reenacting favorite books, introducing students to new titles, and even “Dress up as your favorite book character day” on March 4th. We want families to get involved as well, so we have sign up sheets posted on the window of every classroom. We encourage families, even big sisters and brothers, to come read to your student’s class throughout next week. To continue our national reading month, we have our Book Fair the week of March 18!
