Week of the Young Child
Grab your passports and get your children ready to travel the world!
Week of the Young Child, April 6-12, recognizes young students, their teachers, and their families for all their hard work. This annual event, sponsored by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), allows us to showcase the importance of early childhood education, our Links to Learning curriculum, and everyone who makes it possible. We have many fun activities planned for Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday. Each classroom will represent a country and celebrate the cultural diversity’s these countries have to offer us. The children will have the chance to travel to different classrooms/ countries and learn more about the country represented in the classroom. Grab your lunch and a picnic blanket for we will be ending the week with a Family Picnic! We want to take this time to celebrate our young children and the diversities we share amongst one another.
Earth Day
Let’s celebrate the Earth, put on your Earth Day shirts and let’s appreciate our planet!
Earth Day is Monday, April 22nd and we will be celebrating this day releasing our classroom ladybugs into our environment. Select PreK classes even get the opportunity to walk down to our neighborhood senior living home to release their ladybugs in the senior home’s rose garden with the residents. Ladybugs help our Earth by eating harmful aphids on leaves, let’s protect those flowers! Our classes will be creating fun activities centering around the importance of protecting our planet. We can’t wait to share photos with you so make sure to keep an eye out on Tadpoles!
