Get ready for a week of fun and learning as we celebrate the Week of the Young Child from April 8th to April 12th at Merryhill Calvine Preschool. This annual event, sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), highlights the importance of early childhood education and celebrates the amazing work of our teachers and caregivers.
Music Monday – April 8th: We’re kicking off the week with a special visit from Mr. Pokorny, our campus music teacher. Our intermediate students will enjoy a private performance from Mr. Pokorny as he plays his standing bass. Afterward, the students will have the opportunity to join his orchestra using their own instruments. Don’t forget to wear your space gear to school!
Tasty Tuesday – April 9th: On Tuesday, we’re getting our aprons and cooking hats ready for a fun day of cooking with Ms. Es! Students will have the chance to measure, mix, decorate, and taste their creations. It’s sure to be a delicious day of learning.
Work Together Wednesday – April 10th: Join us for team-building activities hosted by Coach Hudnall, our campus physical education teacher. Students from intermediate through pre-kindergarten will participate in fun and engaging activities. Don’t forget to wear your workout attire to school!
Artsy Thursday – April 11th: Get ready for a day of creativity and exploration as our pre-kindergarten 1 and 2 students join Ms. Anderson, our campus art teacher, and our 4th-grade students at our upper campus (IDEA Studio) for color exploration activities. Additionally, all preschool students will design their own planets.
Family Friday – April 12th: It’s time to showcase your creativity at our fashion show! Each student will create an item at home, and families are invited to attend the show at 4:00 pm on the pre-kindergarten playground. It’s sure to be a day full of fun and fashion.
