A Note from Our Principal
With our academic school year coming to an end, we are so proud to see our Pre-K students graduating to their next education level. They have worked hard this school year and are ready for their Kindergarten adventures. We look forward to celebrating their accomplishments with a PreK Graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 18th. We are also truly excited to witness all of our young students move up to the next stage of learning here at Merryhill.
Thanks to the strong partnership between parents and teachers and the support of the curriculum, we have completed a very successful school year. We are extremely grateful to the staff as they are the key component of the children’s success here at Merryhill. The communication and bond between staff and parents has helped create a strong, consistent environment for our students. Our success would not have been accomplished without the parent’s utmost support and encouragement.
Join us on Friday, June 14th at 3:30 for a fun time celebrating all our Dads, Grandpas, Uncles and Father figures who pour so much into their young learners.
Spirit Week will be our last week of this school year, June 17, 18 and 20. Be sure to check the lobby boards and Links2Home for details as this week of fun gets closer.
Monday, June 24th is the first day of the new school year! The first several weeks of the new school year will be dedicated to helping the children get familiar with their new teacher, classroom, and routines. It is our goal to help our students have a smooth transition by providing fun and exciting activities and, at the same time, spend time getting to know the children and forming the bond and attachment that will help them feel comfortable and at ease with their new teachers.
Get ready for an epic summer! Our teachers and staff are busy planning a fun and unforgettable experience for our students. From sports and games to arts and crafts, we have something for everyone. We will be sharing more information soon via Links 2 Home about our upcoming events and activities. As always, we are here to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Melissa Moenning
Water Wednesdays
Water play days are an exciting part of our summer experience and we can’t wait for your child to participate! Through the month of July, we will host Water Wednesdays and the children should come to school in their swimsuits and water shoes as they must wear shoes while outside. Please bring a towel and a change of dry clothes in a bag to go home at the end of each Water Wednesday. For the safety of the children, open-toe shoes are not permitted.
Sunscreen
We know how important protecting your child’s skin is from the summer sun. Please complete the Sunscreen Permission Form (see our front desk for a copy) and provide us with a non-aerosol sunscreen labeled with your child’s first and last name written on masking tape to ensure it remains on the sunscreen.
Don’t Forget to Re-enroll for Next School Year!
Thank you to our families who have already secured their re-enrollment for the upcoming school year. Our classrooms are filling quickly and our teachers have already started to plan exciting new activities for next year. For those who have not yet registered, we urge you to complete the re-enrollment process as soon as possible to guarantee your child’s spot. Please let us know if you have any questions or need a copy of the Letter of Intent form to complete for the 2024/2025 school year. We look forward to another year of growth, learning, and fun together!
Cubby Refresh
Please make sure to refresh the spare clothing in your child’s cubby. Take home anything that no longer fits and leave a spare set of well-fitting, weather-appropriate clothes.
