A Note from Our Principal
Starting a new school year is always so exciting! We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our new families and a sincere thank you to our returning families. We had a successful Back to School Night, where parents had the opportunity meeting the teachers while also receiving important information regarding our program. Fall is quickly approaching and we are ready for all the fun filled activities. We had a wonderful summer and look forward to another successful year of learning, fun, and growth.
Sincerely,
Karina Medina
Grandparents Day
We love our families and everyone is equally important…get ready to celebrate Grandparents Day on Friday, September 6th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Join us on the large playground and get ready to garden. Grandparents will enjoy an afternoon planting flowers, decorating pots and reading books with their grandchild. Of course we will have a photo section as we love to capture these wonderful moments. Snacks and drinks will be provided during the event. Sign up in the front office today!
National Teddy Bear Day
Let’s celebrate by having a Teddy Bear Picnic! On September 9th, have your child bring their favorite stuffy and a small blanket/towel and the teachers will have a picnic outdoors or indoors with the class during lunch time. The children will also have the opportunity to share their stuffy while telling the class all the fun adventures they had with their furry friend! Be on the look out for photos!
Better Together Day/Meet the Admin Team
Here at Merryhill we strive on developing positive relationships and creating a family environment. On Better Together Day, September 13th, we will take a full school picture, so please have your child wear their Cougar shirt. We will also have Meet the Admin from 7:00am-9:00am. We will have the coffee running and have some small breakfast goodies while you stop by the lobby to catch up and chat. Both Miss. Celyna and I enjoy meeting our families and checking in and seeing how they are doing. This is not a time to follow up on your child, it’s about getting to know our parents. Any vacation plans ahead or memorable experiences. We look forward to getting to know all of you!

From all the books and activities the children will have completed, they will come up with a list to create a perfect Fiesta! The children will celebrate during outdoor time!
Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed
During the week of September 22nd, the children will learn all about Apples! Which apple do you like best…red, yellow or green? The children will have fun with math while graphing their favorite apple after completing an apple taste test. On Johnny Appleseed’s Birthday, September 26th, the children will practice following instructions on how to make an apple pie! I can’t wait to try it! We will end the week off with dramatic play, in honor of Johnny, get your crazy hats out!
