The 2017 Merryhill Midtown Coed Golf Season is underway with a couple returning players and a few fresh faces to fill out the team of eight. Practices began March 14th at Bing Maloney Golf Course and the team has been working hard to improve their skills while focusing on their on-course etiquette in preparation for the season’s final tournament, the PAL Golf Championship. If their first wild and windy practice match at Bing Maloney Executive 9 is any indication of how the season is going to go, it’s shaping up to be a fun but challenging time!
Returning player, Brie Briggs lead the way versus St. John Vianney on Thursday, March 30th posting a team low score of 45. Followed close behind her were Stephen Nefsky and Logan Hale who recorded solid scores of 48. The remaining team members were not about to let the gusting winds and slowly dipping temperatures get the best of them either. Rowan Craig (49), Makena Adams (52), Rebecca Trauner (53) and Callister Misquitta (55) all kept their composure and finished the round with a sense of success for what they had just endured. With the first practice match under their belts, this year’s coed golf team showed they are ready for whatever obstacles await them!
