Dearest Families,
February ended with cold weather!! We look forward to much needed sunshine! We will start our garden again when the weather starts to get a little warmer! The children, teachers and I will plant herbs to taste and smell, veggies to eat and do projects with, and colorful flowers to look at and draw! This garden will give us more real life learning experiences to incorporate with our Links to Learning curriculum!
With the days getting longer and spring time just around the corner, we leap into March with a renewed sense of excitement! Starting the excitement, we will have a special visitor this Friday. The Cat and the Hat will come and read to the children in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday! In addition our spring pictures are happening soon! Our Scholastic Book Fair is in full swing and teasing you with all of the fun books to buy this week! We will have a St. Patrick’s Day pot-luck 3:30 pm coming up, and then the Easter egg hunt will be on the last day of this month, March 30th! Hold on to your hats, because April is jammed packed with thrills too.
For our Pre-K children who are graduating to Kindergarten in the new school year, visit the Elementary front office for information on how to reserve your spot! You can always schedule a personal tour with Ms. Cooper to get more information. Please contact the Elementary Principal, Karen Cooper, or the Vice Principal Joan Sousae for more details. Their contact number is 408-254-1282, or they can also be reached by email at Karen.cooper@nlcinc.com and Joan.sousae@nlcinc.com. The Elementary School will also have a carnival for all families on Sat. March 24 from 10am – 1pm. Join the fun!! This is also where you will be able to get information on the Kindergarten summer camp program. There will be registration forms there too to sign up for their summer camp. Their summer camp is for all families, even outside families. If you know of any friends or family who need a fun place for their child to go for the summer months, Merryhill Elementary School is the way to go! They have fun fieldtrips every week and lots of fun activities throughout the day. Check them out!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns my door is always open. We are here to help you and “our” children in any way we can. Everyone at Merryhill is special and important to us. Let us continue to make this a great school year!
Your Merryhill Preschool Principal,
Heather Bilbro Palmer

If there’s one thing parents love to do, it’s talk about their children’s successes.
When friends ask you about your child’s experiences at Merryhill School, what type of success stories do you share? Do you mention the personal and educational discoveries your child is making thanks to our advanced curriculum? Do you talk about the new levels of self and social confidence your child has gained thanks to our encouraging atmosphere?
