A Note From Our Principal,
We hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones! We enjoyed our Thankful Feast so much and the kids enjoyed a great variety of potluck items that were all delicious! As the winter holidays approach we have many special events planned for our students and families and look forward to spending time with you all. We have also enclosed important winter and holiday procedure reminders in this newsletter. Please read through it carefully and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Happy Holidays!

Parent’s Day Out
Looking for a chance to shop, exercise or even shower kid-free? On Saturday December 15th we will be hosting our annual Parent’s Day Out at Merryhill School! If you are interested in a little kid-free time, please RSVP in the lobby.
Cost: $20/child, $15/each additional child
Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
The theme will be Winter (think snowballs, snowflakes and snowmen), lunch will be a Taco Bar and there will be a special afternoon snack.
School Closures – Due to poor air quality
We do not always follow the closure schedule of the local public schools because we don’t have to contend with the same transportation issues as public schools. Our goal is to be open as many days as possible to support our working parents. If we must close because our teachers cannot safely get to work, you will receive a notification via Links 2 Home as soon as the closure is announced. We also post notifications on our website and Facebook page.
Brrr … Winter Clothing Reminder
If you have not already done so, please check your child’s cubby to ensure they have an extra set of weather appropriate clothes. Please send your student to school with a jacket and clothes warm enough to play outside for part of the day. Unless it’s raining, we will still go outside for active games and SPARK activities and we want everyone to be able to participate.
Holiday Closures
Merryhill School will be closed on December 25th for Christmas and January 1st for New Year’s Day.
Holiday Celebrations—Friday, December 21st
To celebrate the holiday season, we will be having our annual Holiday Show on Friday December 21st.
The students will be performing their Holiday Shows beginning at 9:00am and then again at 4:30pm. The performances will be in the Intermediates Room and we ask that all parents stay until the end of the show. The show should last between 35-40 minutes.
The Toddlers and Beginner 1 class will be having an activity for their parents immediately following the performance.
Santa Claus will be visiting the classrooms starting at 3:30pm. The teachers will be taking pictures and sending them home via Links to Home.
Please RSVP for the show that you would like to attend in the lobby.

This year we are collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program, which donates toys to children in Yolo County who are less fortunate.
