A Note From Our Principal,
We hope your children enjoyed their fall lessons, pumpkin themed activities and classroom celebrations last month. Seeing our students enjoy their Halloween costumes and fall attire is one of the highlights of the year for us. Thank you for allowing us to be part of these special occasions! This month we are focusing on gratitude and connecting with our community.
*Revised 11/25*- Holiday Giving Campaign – Kick OFF!
As part of our effort to teach our student’s about the importance of giving this holiday season, we are going ALL OUT for our Holiday Giving Campaign this year! This year we are participating in TWO fundraising initiatives!
Our Holiday Giving Campaign Kicks Off today with Penny Boxes going home today! Any time you bring back your box, you will get a raffle ticket. We’ll be raffling off items from our Yankee Candle fundraiser at our Wrap Up Event!
All proceeds raised will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Our second initiative is our annual Toy Drive, Toys for Tots. Students can now bring in new, unwrapped toys for children that are less fortunate. The Marine Corps will be on site December 13th to collect the toys.
*Revised 11/25* Holiday Giving Campaign – WRAP UP!
On December 13th @ 10:30am, we will be inviting a rep from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as well as a Marine from Toys for Tots to accept the donations. Our goal is to raise $500! If we do, on December 13th at our Teddy Bear Picnic Party we will do a SLIME-THE-PRINCIPAL EVENT!
Please have your children wear their PJ’s and bring a Teddy Bear and blanket for our culminating event! We will have cookies and juice outside on the playground.
Sincerely,
Jill McSpadden
Illness Policy Reminder
Our parents are vital partners in helping us to maintain a safe and healthy environment for the students in our school. The most important thing you can do to assist us in creating a healthy environment is to keep your child home if they are ill. This reduces the spread of illness and allows your child to fully recuperate. Children may not attend school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours if they display any of the following:
- Fever of 100 degrees of more—must be fever free for 24 hours with no fever-reducing medicine before returning to school
- Vomiting, diarrhea or upset stomach
- Heavy nasal discharge
- Persistent, non-productive or barking cough
- Sore throat
- Undiagnosed skin rash
- Head lice
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior unlike child’s normal demeanor that may also indicate illness
