Dear Parents,
Let me start by sending out huge thanks for all that you did to help make Halloween a very special week for our children here at the Park City Merryhill School. You were all very generous with items for the children’s parties and for the donations for our Halloween Car Parade. Together we made some great memories for these children – I knew we could do it!
The children have had such a great time learning about Fall and everything that goes along with it. Our teachers are so creative as I found out when watching all the different activities focused around pumpkins. Counting, sorting measuring, pumpkin bowling, carving, scooping, planting, art, etc…endless the amount of fun we have had. This November we will continue as we learn about Turkeys, Family and Friendship. I’m sure you have all seen the family of turkeys that visit us almost daily. How fun it is for the children to see them up close.
All of our COVID protocols are continuing to go well. The children remain healthy and everyone seems to be use to our new “normal”. We have begun to increase class sizes in our Pre-K classrooms to 12 and are considering it in the Intermediate rooms if all continues to go well. Beginners, Toddlers and Infants remain at 10. The children are doing so well with their masks and washing their hands throughout the day. Toys and classrooms continue to get sanitized and disinfected throughout the day as well as touch points and our play yard.
We know it has been hard dropping your child off at the front, but we really feel that it is keeping our school community healthy. I will continue sending out the Merryhill News every other week and Parent reports will be out the week of Nov. 9th. If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher, call me and we will arrange a time for you to call during their nap time. Please remember, as you are dropping off and picking up your children to keep on the sidewalk and stay socially distanced. We are encouraging the children to walk, so while I know you are very excited to see your child, please walk to the front to pick them up. As it gets dark, we will require that you walk to the table to pick up your child and social distance while waiting for your child. Thank you for your patience.
Looking forward to another fun filled, safe and healthy month at Merryhill Preschool.
