Dear Parents,
This year, more than ever, it is great to reflect upon what we are Thankful for. These last months have been very challenging and I think it is so easy for us to forget about the many good things around us.
To begin with, I am very thankful for you – our families. It is amazing that we have all come together as a school community and that everyone is doing their part to make sure our school is successful during this pandemic. I appreciate that you have chosen to send your child to us and that you trust us to keep your child(ren) safe.
Secondly, I am incredibly thankful for our wonderful staff. This pandemic has added so many additional challenges to their already, very busy day. Yet – they remain dedicated to making sure the children are not only safe, but to providing a happy, fun and educational environment for all. With this in mind, I am asking for your help.
I sat down earlier this week, with a few other staff members and planned out several activities for the month of December that will be fun and take our mind off some of the other things going on in the outside world. Look for more details soon about our “Lunch with Santa” event and our “Virtual Holiday Program” featuring all the children. We also have planned some great “Fun Friday” events and a Staff Holiday “socially distance” party as well as a Holiday week full of fun for everyone.
We are hopeful that you will join us in celebrating our staff and thanking them for all that they have done and will continue to do during these very difficult and sometimes stressful “pandemic” days. Some ideas that we hope you will help us with are:
• Donating $5 gift cards for the teachers • Providing (store / restaurant bought) lunch for your child’s teacher(s) • Donating Raffle prizes for the holiday party • Sending notes of thanks to the staff • Providing (store bought) treats for the staff
These are just a couple of suggestions, but any ideas that you may have to help us celebrate our staff would be appreciated. I will be putting together a calendar or list in which you may sign up for (through email, phone calls or during check in with Monique, Myself or Kathy) Dates that would work for you and/or items you would like to donate. All raffle prizes will be sanitized and kept up front until the teachers take them home.
You have all already been so supportive of us and that is greatly appreciated, we know that these times have been difficult so please help support our staff if you can, but if not, we know you are supporting us just by allowing us to teach your child and for that we are very thankful!
Happy Holiday Season to all and may you and your families continue to stay safe and well.
