A Message From the Principal:
Welcome to the Fall Season!
The month of September seemed to fly by with our fun themed dress up days and Lifetouch Photo Sessions. Please order online or turn in your orders by this Friday, October 6th. The Virtual Speaker Series will continue this month with a “Managing Big Emotions Virtual Workshop” on October 3rd at 4 pm.
As we kickstart the month of October, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the changing seasons and the wonderful opportunities that await our students. Fall offers the perfect backdrop for learning.
October will be a very busy month as we participate in many projects and experiments related to the Fall Season. Please mark your calendars! This month will include Fire Prevention Week, Pumpkin Drop STEM Projects and our annual Read for the Record Event. We are excited announce that we will also bringing back our “Trunk or Treat Spooktacular” event at the end of the month. Please note, we will need many parent volunteers to help us make this fun and popular Trunk or Treat event a success.
This month we will also be offering our Charleston Wrap Fundraiser as well as everyone’s favorite…Scholastic Book Fair! Additionally, Merryhill Spirit Shirts and Rollie Pollie Nap Packs will be available for purchase soon. Please note, there is absolutely no obligation to participate in the fundraisers. They have been put into place as a convenience to you and your friends to purchase items you might not have access to otherwise.

Join Us for Our Virtual Parenting Workshop About Managing Big Emotions
October 3 at 4PM : Young children can quickly become overwhelmed by big feelings that lead to crying, meltdowns, aggression, and other challenging behaviors. Learn ways to teach your child to develop coping skills and manage disappointment. Help them handle separation anxiety and other worries while establishing self-soothing techniques. Sign up at: https://conta.cc/47XmCrZ
Read for the Record: Read for the Record Day is on October 26th, 2023. (Dress Code: Pajamas)
This year, we are SHARING THE LOVE and reading With Lots of Love by Jenny Torres Sanchez, illustrated by André Ceolin.
Read for the Record is the world’s largest shared reading experience. It celebrates early language and social-emotional development and builds an intergenerational community through reading while raising awareness about the importance of early literacy. Participation in Read for the Record provides access to inclusive literature that fosters belonging and connection through a child’s own experiences and the experiences of others. We are joining the thousands of schools, libraries, organizations, and communities celebrating early literacy by reading the story, With Lots of Love. It is a beautiful story about family, finding ways to stay connected, and sharing love across distances.
Trunk or Treat Extravaganza: On Tuesday, October 31st, beginning @ 10:00 am we will be going on our Trunk or Treat Field Trip to our Preschool Parking Lot.
We are asking for parent volunteers to decorate the trunks of their cars and give away goodies to the children. (non-nut products for up to 150 children please)
If you are interested in participating with your car or by helping the teachers in the classroom and on the field trip, please sign up on your classroom door. We will be closing off the parking lot at 9am in order for the trunk decorators to have plenty of time to complete their masterpieces.
Enrollment Schedules: Our 5 full day schedule gives your child access to every project and event at our school. We encourage our students to attend school on a 5 day a week program to gain the highest benefit from our Links to Learning curriculum. Switching days, so your child may participate in special activities or events may not always be accommodated. If you have previously signed up for a part time schedule and would like to increase your schedule, please notify the office as soon as possible. Spaces are extremely limited!
On Time Tuition Payments / Late Payment Fees / Payment Options: I would like to thank all of you for paying your Tuition each week in advance. As you are all aware, Tuition payments are due at the beginning of each week. As a reminder, any payments received after your child’s first day of attendance each week will be automatically charged an additional late fee of $25. To save you time and the headache of having to remember your checkbook every Monday, it is now possible to set up an automatic payment program. Please speak with Ms. Tammy, Ms. Pauline or Ms. Cristina, and they will assist you in registering for this convenient program.
Family Referral Bonus: Do you know a colleague who has recently had a baby, a friend in need of care who just relocated to the area, or a family member who is seeking a new preschool for their child? When you refer a friend and they enroll, you’re eligible for a free week of tuition. Ask us for details!
Vacation Policy: I would like to take a moment to remind you of our Vacation Time Request Policy. We offer 1 week of Vacation Credit per school year. This week is inclusive/reflective of your child’s schedule. We require 30 days advance notice to process the Vacation Request, which includes auditing the records to make sure a previous Vacation Credit has not been issued this school year. Please submit all vacation requests in writing or via e-mail a minimum of 30 days prior to your requested Vacation Time. Your child must be enrolled a minimum of 6 months to qualify for the Vacation Credit.
