A Note from Our Principal
Dear Families,
We had a wonderful March celebrating Read Across America. The children enjoyed the book fair and reading books with their teachers. We also had a fancy lunch in honor our 25 year anniversary! The children looked fabulous! Happy April! This month, we are looking forward to discovering all the changes spring brings forth. This season provides a great opportunity for children to learn and grow as they discover new things in their environment. Our teachers are planning lots of fun outdoor adventures, lessons, picnics, and more! We are also excited to celebrate Week of the Young Child and Earth Day.
Sincerely,
Karina Medina
Week of the Young Child
Week of the Young Child, April 6-12, recognizes young students, their teachers, and their families for all their hard work. This annual event, sponsored by The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), allows us to showcase the importance of early childhood education, our Links to Learning curriculum, and everyone who makes it possible. We have many fun activities planned and this year we headed to OUTER SPACE! Take a peek below for all the exciting events:
Music Monday: Children will enjoy making instruments and we will have a special guest from our Elementary School….Mr. Pokorny our music teacher will join and provide a private performance.
Tasty Tuesday: Students will head to outer space and make their own planet through pizza.
Work Together Wednesday: Coach Hudnall from our elementary school will host a team building activity! Students can wear workout attire.
Artsy Thursday: The children will enjoy color exploration with our art teacher Ms. Anderson. They will create planets.
Family Friday: It’s time for an out of this world fashion show! Parents it’s time for you to shine! Each student will be asked to create an accessory at home. Families are invited to attend the show at 4:00pm on the pre-kindergarten playground.
Infants/ Toddler Students: Bibs
Beginner 1/2 Students: Vest
Intermediate Students: Hat
Pre-Kindergarten 1 Students: necklace or tie
Pre-Kindergarten 2 Students: purse, briefcase or backpack
I am looking forward to the fun filled week! More information will be sent via Links 2 Home.
Earth Day
Earth Day is Monday, April 22nd! Our classes will be creating fun activities centering around the importance of protecting our planet. The children are also learning about the Butterfly Life Cycle and observing the process with real caterpillars. The Pre-K2 class will have a butterfly parade and present the life cycle to our 2nd grade class. We can’t wait to share the photos with you.
