Ms. Alicia Ouellette - Middle School Language Arts
Hello! My name is Ms. Ouellette, and I teach middle school English Language Arts. I previously taught high school in Washington state, and this is my fifth year at Merryhill. I have my Bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts and my Master’s degree in Secondary Education. I very much look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your students. Classroom Notes
In 5th-8th grade, we are working on our second units (found below)! Students will end each unit with a project of some kind, often incorporating student choice, creativity, and various kinds of writing. 6th-8th also completes grammar lessons. 5th Grade: “Inventors at Work,” “What a Story,” “Natural Disasters,” “Wild West,” “Project Earth,” “Art for Everyone,” “Above, Below, and Beyond,” “A New Home,” “Unexpected, Unexplained,” and “The Lives of Animals”
6th Grade: “Discovering Your Voice,” “Never Give Up,” “Finding Courage,” “Through an Animal’s Eyes,” “Surviving the Unthinkable,” and “Hidden Truths”
7th Grade: “Reality Check,” “Take Control,” “The Terror and Wonder of Space,” “Inspired by Nature,” “Game On,” and “Change Agents”
8th Grade: “Gadgets and Glitches,” “The Thrill of Horror,” “Places We Call Home,” “The Fight for Freedom,” “Finding Your Path,” and “The Legacy of Anne Frank.”
