Only At Summerlin Home / About Us / Only At Summerlin Choosing Merryhill School We know that parents have a lot of choices for their child’s education. So, why do families choose Merryhill Elementary School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private school, #OnlyatSummerlin. Let us tell you more! What is PRIDE? At Merryhill Summerlin Elementary, students embody the character traits of PRIDE: Prepared, Respectful, full of Integrity, Dependable, and committed to Excellence. Our nurturing environment supports students from kindergarten through 6th Grade, ensuring they are ready for success in all they do. Kids Heart Challenge The Kids Heart Challenge at our school is about moving our bodies to better our minds and hearts, literally and metaphorically. Through this event, our students get active through cardio challenges while also raising money to help children with heart defects. It is a learning experience in science, wellness, and kindness. Spirit Shirts Spirit Shirts offer our students a fun way to show their school spirit while giving back to the community. On the last Friday of every month, they proudly wear their spirit shirts instead of uniforms. Additionally, they help raise money for a chosen cause each month. Families team up with us to decide which organizations to support and how to make a positive impact. Community Outreach Community engagement knows no bounds here at Merryhill Summerlin. Our students take part in many different service projects every year. Recent projects include collecting 2000 pounds of food for the Three Square Food Bank with our sister preschool students. They have also helped homeless families and their pets through Street Dogs, and have taken part in Walk for Wishes! Field Trips Field trips at our private school combine a love for learning with growing to be curious thinkers. This connects the classroom to the community and beyond. These trips away from school are all about experiential learning and seeing all the world has to offer. It also gives our students an opportunity to be independent! Some of the great trips that our students get to take part in are learning about local Las Vegas history at the Neon Museum, the Hoover Dam, and Red Rock Canyon. Our 4th and 5th graders have visited Washington D.C., Williamsburg, and our capital Carson City. Our 2nd and 3rd grade students have visited the planetarium and Springs Preserve.
