Hello third grade families! My name is Ms. Smith and this is my sixth year teaching third grade here at Merryhill Midtown. I was born and raised in Sacramento and I am so proud to call this city home. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development from Sacramento State and later earned my teaching credential from National University. In my free time I love reading, spending time with my fiancé and dog, and getting out in nature as often as possible.

In 3rd Grade we…

Believe in the Power of Yet✨ We will exercise our brains daily and develop growth mindsets.

-Write in a variety of genres including narratives, opinion pieces, and informational pieces.

-Develop an understanding of multiplication, division, and fractions.  Students will become true mathematicians through multiple real world projects.

-Begin novel studies, which provide the opportunity to deepen comprehension skills, build authentic vocabulary, and make interdisciplinary connections.

-Expand our knowledge of plant and animal adaptations, environmental changes and effects, and fossils.
