They have so much fun that they do not even realize that they are learning new skills! Social interactions are a big part of our program. Your child will practice taking turns, sharing, and understanding their own emotions, as well as those of their friends. These skills help to build strong friendships and good communication in our students. We are also proud to teach our students to appreciate diversity. We invite them to celebrate and accept people who may be similar or different from themselves. This helps to build a positive and inclusive view of the world. Schedule a Tour Students Will Enjoy: Storytime to build vocabulary and understanding. Math lessons on using graphs and number lines. Art projects to inspire imagination. Science experiments to make predictions, test ideas, and explore how things work. Links to Learning in our Intermediate Classroom: Language & Literacy Our teachers ask our students to share their ideas and listen to each other. Through this, our students gain more confidence in speaking in front of others. They work with letter sounds and explore characters and plot lines in books. Mathematical Thinking Our students sort, compare, and use simple graphs and number lines. These math skills make numbers fun and relatable! They give our students a strong foundation in math. Social-Emotional Learning Our students learn to follow directions, take turns, and make friends. Play helps them understand their feelings and learn to speak with friends. They build the strong social and emotional skills that they will need for kindergarten and beyond. Wellness Our students develop their fine motor skills by working with their hands. They improve their balance through movement activities. Stretching, running, and dancing help them feel strong and confident. Creative Expression Through art and music, our students explore textures, colors, and sounds. We teach them about artists and musicians and inspire them to express themselves in new ways. Scientific Exploration In science, our students learn by observing, predicting, and exploring changes. They see cause and effect in action! These activities spark their curiosity and get them excited for learning. Citizens of the World We introduce our students to the idea of diversity. They grow to accept and appreciate others who may look, speak, or live differently. They also start to understand that each family is unique. They learn that these are some things that make our world more interesting.
